I remember being younger and always wanting to be on the set of a photoshoot. Perusing through stacks and stacks of old fashion magazines and flipping each page, I had no idea what was involved in constructing a "shoot", let alone what it meant to take a photograph with someone other than a family member on the other side of the lens. Flash forward to today, and I now am fortunate enough to photograph some of the individuals who have graced the covers of SUSPEND including the inexplicably talented Miss Lawn, Co-Founder/Creative Director of one of the pioneering streetwear labels, HLZBLZ.
The following are never-before-seen images in-between outfit changes when I photographed her at the end of 2015 for her cover story and editorial (written and interviewed by Remy Ramirez). I asked Lanie prior to the shoot if she could bring pieces spanning the 10-years' history of HLZBLZ so far and she willingly obliged.
Special thanks to Hair/MUA Grace Fong as well as my camera assistants Christy J. Kim and Kayla Reefer. These were taken at Concrete Studios in Los Angeles.
