NIPS & PIECES: The Hundreds by Alyasha Release Party at Gym Standard, San Diego

The Hundreds held its official release party for its collection, The Hundreds by Alyasha, at Gym Standard (2903 El Cajon Blvd) in San Diego with long-time streetwear designer and pioneer Alyasha Owerka-Moore himself. Alexander Spit and Alyasha both DJ’d throughout the evening with Bobby and Ben Hundreds attending – as well as the rest of The Hundreds crew.

Bobby Hundreds’ latest article on Alyasha titled “Meet Your Maker” documents Alyash’a lengthy career – over two decades worth – in streetwear, stemming from his early teenage years as a skateboarder in San Diego. Having grown up in Brooklyn, on welfare, in the late ‘70s, Alyasha faced discrimination for his mixed race heritage.

Alyasha started Phat Farm in the 1990s with Russell Simmons and later started his first skate brand, American Dream Inc., before also starting Fiberops and Alphanumeric. His footprint in skate and pop culture is immense to say the least, and Bobby Hundreds himself is the first to call Alyasha his mentor.
